Description
Summary:Lecturer is a major resource in an institution of higher education. The quality of lecturers will be very influential to the quality of students and graduates. To maintain the quality of lecturers, a good performance management system for faculty member is needed, from performance planning at the beginning of the semester, until the performance evaluation at the end of the semester. SBM-ITB as the best business schools in Indonesia still has obstacles in implementing performance management for faculty member. Several business issues related to performance management for faculty member are low transparency level, no feedback, irrelevant to the business strategy and Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, poor socialization program, subjective measurements, improper accuracy, and competence of the lecturers are not defined and agreed. The root of problem of the seven hindrance factors are lack of people support, no standard procedure that is understandable by its users, and existing technology

facilities are not yet sufficient to support the process of performance management for faculty member, from the planning stages until the evaluation stage. This final project is focused on the proposal of KM implementation to performance management for faculty member. Begins with defining KM Objective. Followed by identifying existing KM Initiatives in SBM-ITB which can be optimized to support the program of performance management for faculty member. Finished by designing model, SOP, and KM-based performance appraisal framework for SBM-ITB. The implementation plan is divided into three stages: optimization of existing KM Initiatives, forming a special committee of performance management for faculty member, and designing integrated knowledge technology. Proposal of KM implementation is proven to be a solution of hindrance factors of performance

management for faculty member in SBM-ITB.
