Information system plays important roles in this modern era. It has been implemented in many ways and many aspects of social element including in mechanical engineering education-institution. Because the complex nature of mechanical engineering education system, special strategy are required in design and implementation process to create the information system for mechanical engineering education area. <br /> <br /> <br /> This paper will cover the development of open-source technologies in regards with academic activity in mechanical engineering education-institution. The main subject is how to alter and modify these technologies into specific knowledge management system, which can be used to manage information flow in mechanical engineering education area. These technologies are chosen because it is considered as the most economical system to develop, implemented and maintained. The focus of this paper is optimizing information flow in manufacturing-process experiment class, which is involves distribution of informations between students, assistants, and lecturer. Besides the distribution aspects, it also covers the managerial of several form of information, including managerial of multimedia technology, events, calendars, glossary and others to support the class activities.
