Therefore, it is important to monitor the condition of antifriction bearings before it causes a serious catastrophic failure. <br /> <br /> <br /> In this research, antifriction bearing condition will be monitored to identify defect of bearings. The monitoring will be done using several parameters, such as vibration, <br /> <br /> <br /> shock pulse, and temperature. These parameters will be simultaneously monitored until comprehensive result is obtained. The bearing being tested in this research is a tapered roller bearing. In order to identify damage on the bearing in a short time, the test is done using an accelerated test. This technique is done by giving an overload force on the bearing. <br /> <br /> <br /> The results of the accelerated test demonstrate the increment of vibration level, shock pulse, and temperature have appeared before the bearing defect appears. The <br /> <br /> <br /> result of linear spectrum analysis shows there are several characteristic frequencies appeared when a defect occurred on bearing components. text |
