Description
Summary:Energy savings is one of the main concern today to encourage technological advances that continue to evolve by creating machines with more efficient use of energy. One of the improvements to increase the efficiency is by finding a gearbox that has low friction and minimal vibration.

Gearbox that can generate low friction losses and cause a little vibration is one of the parameters that can determine the efficient energy usage. Lubricants as a liquid chemical that interacts directly with the gears in the gearbox is one of the substance that are going to be studied in the attempt to reduce the friction loss.

An optimal lubricant filling and appropriate will reduce the occurrence of loss of friction that occurs in the gearbox as well as saving the consumption of lubricants. After obtaining the optimum level of lubrication in the previous test, the authors conduct further research to obtain the optimum temperature lubrication.Conditioning of`temperature`lubricants`are intended`as`a way`to`adjust the viscosity of lubricantin the gearbox.

Analysis of the test results conclude a relationship between the addition of the effects of heating temperature variation with lubricant viscosity and lubrication level and then the correlation and its influence on friction losses resulting in the gearbox. Lubrication optimum obtained from this study is 78⁰C and 12 cP for the dynamic viscocity.
