Summary: | Oil and natural gas occupy the important role as the main source of natural energy. The existence of pipeline becomes the main things as transportation and distribution for oil and natural gas. The damage of pipe is very avoided. One of the damage of pipe is caused by corrosion. That’s why we need a corrosion control method for pipe as cathodic protection and coating. These methods will have corrosion protection effectively.
In this final assignment, we set cathodic protection design for offshore pipe gas supply. This cathodic protection design method use sacrificial anode method. The cathodic protection design refers to recommended practice DNV RP F103, 2010. This catodic protection design in this dinal assignment is applied for gas pipe supply from refinery unit VI Balongan to SPM. The long and protection pipe is 11000 meters.
The result of cathodic protection design with sacrificial anode method in this final assignment is for design life 30 years, with aluminum bracelet anode type we need 115 anodes that have weight of each anode is 48 kg, the total weight 5225 kg and the distribution of anode is 63 meter. In cathodic protection design there are some parameters that need to be considered such as current density, coating breakdown, anode resistance, environment resistiviy. Besides a calculation sheet has been developed that usefull in counting cathodic protection design by using sacrificial anode method. |
