The purpose of this study was to determine the depositional environment and distribution from limestone of intra Upper Cibulakan Formation in the Kepuh - <br />
<br />
Pasirbungur Sub-basin, North West Java Basin. A sediment of Upper Cibulakan Formation is varies due to depositional environment. One of the proven Play from <br />
<br />
Upper Cibulakan Formation, is a carbonate reservoir that recognized as a reefal build up, deposited locally at a local high in Middle Miocene age (N7-N9). This carbonate reefal play proven at Bambu Besar Structure. The carbonate reefal build up at Bambu Besar Structure is stacking at the upper part of the Baturaja Formation. Based on biostratigraphic fossil analysis, this carbonate reefal build up was formed in inner to shallow middle neritic environment. this carbonate reefal build up formed in inner to shallow middle neritic environment. This carbonate reefal build up facies, laterally change to fine clastic sediments at Outer Neritic environment. This type of carbonate can be a model for intra Formational Upper Cibulakan Play, whereas reefal build up is a tend to formed at inner to shallow middle neritic environment, meanwhile at outer neritic environment deposited a fine clastic sediments. <br />

Understanding the paleogeographic, the depositional environment and distribution of limestone intra Upper Cibulakan Formation at Kepuh – Pasirbungur Sub-basin, <br />

can be used as a model to provide a better understanding as well as opportunities for exploration and to find a new leads and prospects in the North West Java Basin. |
