Description
Summary:The users of mobile internet on cell phone in Indonesia today have grown, most of them being young adults of 18-24 years old. The increase in the amount of users means that providers should be smart in predicting their consumers’ behavior in order to win markets. For Indonesia nation itself, the nation’s capabilities in area of mobile internet is strongly hoped to be enhanced for Indonesians to be ready in facing a digital globalization era.

This study used UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) model as its framework to identify the factors that influence the technology adoption usage behavior, such as performance expectancy, effort

expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and behavioral intention. This study developed the UTAUT model by adding perceived risk factor into its model, and also adding useful information and entertainment variables to performance expectancy factor, user friendliness variable to effort expectancy factor, interpersonal influence and external influence variables to social influence factor, access cost and speed of access variables to facilitating conditions factor, and security protection variable to perceived risk factor.

SEM was used to confirm the model simultaneously. The result of this study indicate that performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and perceived risk have significant influence on the intention to use mobile internet on cell phone (behavioral intention). However, effort expectancy has insignificant influence on intention to adopt. Meanwhile, behavioral intention has direct influence

on the mobile internet usage behaviour (use behaviour).
