Description
Summary:Melandong Area is part of PT Pertamina EP working area that produces hydrocarbon and has just been explored partially. This area is located in Cipunegara Sub-Basin, Northwest Java Basin that was created by extension tectonic mechanism at Early Oligocene. At that time, synrift sediment was deposited and filled basins into graben. This research itself is focused on Talangakar Formation. Talangakar Formation sediment in Melandong consists of shale, sandstone with intercalation of coal layers which is deposited at supralitoral-litoral by the time Early Oligocene-Early Miocene. By reviewing mudlog data, several reservoir candidates were found by the hydrocarbon indication. Seismic 3D data was also interpreted to create map of each sequence. The seismic mapping results were transformed into structural depth map in order to recognize structural configuration at present time and also created isopach map from each sequence in order to recognize paleogeographic of each sequence. Sequence stratigraphy approach that was used in this research by seeing log stratal pattern for each well and then correlate to other wells. Seismic attribute from each horizon was interpreted to see reservoir distribution pattern. This pattern combined with structural depth map of each sequence to see if there any spesific pattern that could describe the stratigraphic potential at the research area.
