Description
Summary:Scarcity of fossil fuels that are currently afflicting the world is a topic that was highlighted in various countries around the world. Fossil fuels which is one of the world's

energy sources are widely used by industry or individuals is an important component of the survival of the people. Therefore, various programs and discourses presented in order to reduce fossil fuel use.

In an effort to save the use of fossil fuels, one of the Dutch company engaged in the energy field, creating a competition called the Shell Eco-marathon. In this competition participants have to create a vehicle, the vehicle must travel the furthest distance with one

liter of fuel. One of the main part of the vehicle is a chassis, which is act as support bases of the other main parts. One of the components of the chassis is the main frame, main frame is the place where other major components and supporting components of the vehicle lies. The purpose of this research is to design and analyze static conditions of the main frame from vehicle that will be use in Shell Eco marathon competition for Cikal Nesantara’s Team . The analysis conducted aimed to determine the condition of the main frame such as distribution of stress and deformation, safety factors, and the feasibility of the main frame after a given loading. A finite element software used to conduct the analysis is Ansys 12.
