Nowadays, it has been one of the leading cause of death in <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> the world, including Indonesia, and WHO has estimated that the number of cancer cases will continue to increase by 45% from year 2007 to 2030. Based on this information, it’s necessary for researchers to develop methods to overcome this problem. One of the most potential outcome is the usage of magnetic nanoparticle as the heat source of hyperthermia therapy. This study attempt to synthesized <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Fe3O4 nanoparticles via coprecipitation method and to analyze the effect of surfactant and chitosan addition on Fe3O4 nanoparticles. It also carried variations in types of surfactants to see the effect of surfactant type on Fe3O4 nanoparticles. Based on the results of XRD, SEM, FTIR, and VSM characterization, shows that the usage of surfactant resulting in reduction of particle size and the usage of <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> chitosan resulting the particle to become more dispersed. The magnetic properties of entire samples are superparamagnetic. This indicates that the addition of both <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> surfactant and chitosan doesn’t alter the magnetic properties but lowers the magnitude from 67.49 emu/gr to 60.11 emu/gr for Fe3O4 − oleic acid − chitosan and 57.12 emu/gr for Fe3O4 − stearic acid − chitosan. text |
