Summary: | This thesis is mainly purposed to continue Felix Stephanus Halim’s (MS 2004) thesis about designing and manufacturing stroking fatigue tester. Felix designed and made a stroking fatigue tester at Laboratorum Mekanika dan konstruksi Mesin ITB which is able to work properly. Unfortunately, this machine does not have a pratical clamping system to maintain speciment on its position during the test. Previous clamping system use bolts for its clamping purpose and it can not accommodate various size of pressure plate.

This thesis objective is to design a new clamping system for this tester which is more practical and able to accommodate different size of pressure plate. Writer begins this project with literature study and browse patents that is already exist on the market. Using obtained data, writer made a comparison analysis for each system to take its beneficial factors and eventually to make a clamping system that is proper for the tester.

Using Autodesk Inventor software, we designed several systems and choose on of them which is the most proper for this testing purpose. Each components of the system was
made at Laboratorium Mekanika dan Konstruksi Mesin ITB.
To test the clamping system, we assemble the clamping device on the tester Felix made. On the operational phase, this clamping device succeded to maintain the speciment
