Summary: | A biosensor is an equipment to scan or detect a life system or a system that has to do with biotic elements. One of the important components in biosensors is transducers. In this research, the transducer used is a
piezoelectric sensor film that is made from a polimer material, poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF). This film can be used as biosensor component when combined with an enzyme. The enzyme that isused is a glucose oxidase enzyme (GOx) and the substrate which will be measured is
sugar. The chemical reaction between the GOx enzyme with sugar will produce electrons that will influence the charge concentration in the PVDF dielectric material. Through the analysist of the current-voltage curve, the
current value that represents the concentration of the sugar that reacts, also the reaction rate can be determined. The measured current value is proportional to the concentration of the sugar. Besides that, the reaction rate will be faster as the enzyme concentration is larger. |
