Description
Summary:Quantitatve biostratigraphy analysis using calcareous nannofossil and foraminifera rely on Air Benakat Formation sediment samples. Those samples are taken from Well-M, Well-N and Well-O located at Tempino Field in Jambi Subbbasin. The age of analysed samples ranging from Early Miocene until Middle Miocene. Calcareous nannoplankton zonation is ranging from NN4 until NN6, whereas planktic foraminiferal zonation is ranging from N7 until N9 to not younger than N17. Calcareous nannoplankton and planktic foraminiferal biozonation datum are present consistently on the three of analysed wells. From older to younger all of biozonation datum are: Occurence of calcareous nannoplankton Sphenolithus heteromorphus (not older than NN4), last occurrence of calcareous nannoplankton Helicosphaera ampliaperta (top of NN4), last occurrence of calcareous nannoplankton Sphenolithus heteromorphus (top of NN5), occurrence of calcareous nannoplankton Cyclicargolithus flordanus (still NN6). Paleobathimetry interpretation is ranging from littoral to outer neritic. Paleoclimate interpretation using whole faunal methode from Early Miocene until Middle Miocene (NN4-NN6 or N7-N9 to not younger than N17) is no extreem climate fluctuation (range: 19-24oC). In conection with foraminifera and calcareous nannoplankton massive distinction on the border of Early to Middle Miocene, eustacy is not the major causal factor. That bioevent is more related to compresional phase of tectonic occured on Middle Miocene until Present. Air Benakat Formation at Tempino Field can be divided into four Sequences (third order). From older to younger sequences are Sequence-1 is equal to Early Miocene / NN4 or N7 Zone / not older than 17.8 until 17.1 mya. Sequence-2 is equal to Early Mioecene until Middle Miocene / NN4-NN5 or N8-N9 Zone / 17.1-14.9 mya. Sequence-3 is equal to Middle Miocene / NN5-NN6 or N9 until not younger than N17 / 14.9-12.7 mya. Sequence-4 is equal to Middle Miocene / NN6 or N9 until not younger than N17 / 12.7mya-?. Sequence-1 at the three wells can be determined as HST-1. HST-1 facies at the three of wells are consist of berupa middle offshore, transitional offshore and shoreface. Sequence-2 at all of the wells can be determined as TST-2 and HST-2. TST-2 facies at Well-M are consist of shoreface, transitional offshore, middle offshore, prograding bar and outer offshore. Whereas the facies at Well-N and Well-O are consist of shoreface, isolated bar/channel, prograding bar, middle offshore and outer offshore. Sequence-3 can be determined as TST-3 at all of wells, whereas HST-3 is only determined at Well-N and Well-O. TST-3 facies at Well-M are consist of shoreface, foreshore, distributary channel and middle offshore. Whereas the TST-3 facies at Well-N and Well-O are consist of shoreface, foreshore , distributary channel and middle offshore. HST-3 facies are consist of middle offshore, transitional offshore and shoreface. Sequence-4 can be detemined as TST-4 only at Well-N and Well-O. The TST-4 is consist of distributary channel, shoreface, transitional offshore and middle offshore.
