Summary: | Geometrical error, given by production processes, results in functional problems in hydro turbine system. These problems include less output power, vibration, cavitation,

and parts friction. Hence, dimentional and geometrical measurement become the fundamental and essential action to be done in each production processes to prevent or

reduce further functional problems.

Purposing to maintain good quality of the parts, especially runner, thus dimentional and geometrical verification for each parts in manufacturing processes are needed. This

final project focuses on the most crucial part in the runner, the blades.

Laser scanner was utilized as a scanning device which converting physical model into digital model. Using this non contact measuring technology, geometrical verification

was done by comparing the scanning data (actual blade) to ideal CAD model.

Pro/Engineer Wildfire and Geomagic Studio are employed as the geometrical measuring softwares. Measuring steps of scanning data in these softwares are clearly given to show the procedures. |
