Description
Summary:Flood at the countryside West Bolontio and East Bolontio, Sumalata Subdistrict, Gorontalo Residence, Gorontalo Province caused much losses and damages : inundation of resident house, government infrastructure, and other public facilities and basic facilities (school, religious service place, street, market, super market, PDAM installation, etc), destroying wet rice field, loss of livestock, etc. Due to the flood that frequently occured over setlement area, especially in the countryside West Bolontio, local people urge that there should be a flood control system. Flood control must be designed integrally as Integrated Flood Management, as part of integrated water resources management (IWRM) ,including structural and non structural measures. Structural measure alternative could be in the form of upstream retardaance basin, river normalization, gate system at Ladapa river and dike construction. Hydrology analysis using HEC-HMS has done to provide input for water surface profile analyses, whereas water surface profile used software HEC-RAS. Hydraulic analysis of water level is evaluated at steady and unsteady condition. The result of analysis show that dike system is the most effective structural measure. Whereas effort in non structural could be emphasized in effort of spatial planning and society awareness.
