Thermoelectric <br /> <br /> <br /> technology which is more widely known causes the developing and research of thermoelectric is important to be conducted. Objective of this research is to design heat pipe with fins, make a testing device, and testing the kinerjance of hermoelectric as a cooler or/and heater. <br /> <br /> <br /> The research is divided in 3 step consisting of design and selecting a testing device, making a testing device, and testing and analysis. The type of thermoelectric that is used in this research is TEC-12706. Testing was carried <br /> <br /> <br /> for several parameter, i.e. testing for heat pipe kinerjance, testing for thermoelectric kinerjance as a cooler, heater, and cooler and heater with 1 and 2 TEC which are varied at 3 voltage operations (15 V, 10 V, and 5 V). <br /> <br /> <br /> Test result shows that the heat pipe kinerjance is quite good for installing 1 TEC because the rate of heat dissipation of TEC and the heat pipe with fin has distinction is only about 5 W. In installation of 2 TEC, heat pipe cannot perform well because the different heat dissipation of TEC and the heat <br /> <br /> <br /> pipe is larger than 1 TEC around 60 W. TEC can be used as a heater at installation of 1 TEC at 10 V and 15 V. As a cooler, TEC can be used for installing 1 TEC with 10 V operation. As a cooler and heater for cabin, thermoelectric kinerjance is not good. This research confirm that the heat pipe and fin design that can be used for the TEC 12706. text
