Summary: | The growth of internet causes the emerging of online communities. A lot of online communities affect people to join at those communities. Every people who join to certain community must have some motivations why they are joining to certain community. This study reveals those motivations to join to online community in Indonesia. Community objects of study are three big online community in Indonesia (Canon EOS 1000D Community, Polygon Xtrada 5 bicycle Community and StarWars movie Community). The method of this study is netnography which is mostly used to examine online community. This study found that motivation to exchanging information is stronger at Polygon Xtrada 5 bicycle community and StarWars movie community. While the dominant motivation for Canon EOS 1000D is to get social supporting. This study analyze toward factors causes the difference between three communities and examine the effect toward core component of online community, such as consciousness of kind, shared ritual and traditions and sense of moral responsibility. |
