Reviewed based on its type, corporate knowledge consists of knowledge that has been documented (explicit knowledge) and knowledge in every individual organization’s mind (tacit knowledge). In order to <br /> <br /> <br /> organize and utilize company’s knowledge, there are considered important things for organizations to transfer knowledge from tacit to explicit, which involved four phases: socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization (SECI). In an effort to transfer its knowledge, PT. Medco E&P Indonesia develop Record Center that has a role play in storage and utilize geosciences and exploration data, as well as K-Corner facilities that has a role play in storing and utilizing variety of knowledge. In its actual implementation, utilization of knowledge does not work effectively related to the low frequency of data and information utilization in both facilities. Based on these issues, this research is conducted with the aim of <br /> <br /> <br /> evaluating storage and utilization of data and information in Record Center and K-Corner and then the results will be obtained for further consideration in the development of Knowledge Management initiatives for both facilities. Through the evaluation, there are several issues related to the low frequencies of data and information utilization, such as no socialization about both facilities, Record Center data cannot help get the job done more easily and precisely, both facilities lack of socialization metadata content in their search engine application, which can facilitate appropriate data and information searching. In an effort to fix these cause, there are several proposed of KM Initiatives as an alternative solution, such as socialization of both facilities; improving Records Center data utilization to become an information through the process of capture, restore, and reuse of data; improving KCorner information utilization into knowledge through information reuse and information sharing; and socialization metadata content. text |
