Corporations are starting to work in project management framework and leaving the traditional functions based way of organizing projects. This leads to new ways of driving and implementing changes and improvements. <br /> <br /> <br /> A project management methodology define a set of Project Management Process Groups, their related process and the related control functions that are consolidated and combined into a functioning unified whole. A Project management methodology may or may not be an elaboration of a project management standard. A Project management methodology can be either a formal mature process of an informal technique that helps a project management team in developing a project charter more effectively. <br /> <br /> <br /> One of the common approach for IT project management methodology is the concept of Ssystem Development Life Cycle (SDLC) which been defined as for use for the management of a software development related projects. <br /> <br /> <br /> While on the other hand in practice, some IT project does not follow a proper project management methodologies and are not being put in a disciplined framework. SDLC is also a methodology applicable to IT projects as in every industry. Here we discuss about what issue GE Money Indonesia IT team and what project management framework that is being used currently in managing project such as system development, Infrastructure and security related projects and improve it as business develops and change. One can adopt SDLC as commonly accepted as a methodology for software or system development and part of a project management study in Operational Management. In definition, Project Management is: planning, directing, and controlling resources (people, equipment, materials) to meet technical, cost and time constraints of the project2. How SDLC can be the management framework of IT related project in GE Money Indonesia. The importance of process control in SDLC for IT project is also discussed here in respective of IT Governance and audit importance.
