Description
Summary:Risk analysis in a storage tank is considered as a part of an oil and gas industry and the process is very important. This is because the impact would be minimized if you do risk analysis; wasting products stored in the tank, the impact on the environment, and financial losses.

In this final assignment conducted the risk analysis using the methodology of Appendix O API 581 RBI for Aboveground Storage Tank (AST). Risk analysis done by two methods, namely methods qualitatively and quantitatively.

Qualitative methods conducted by a screening question to brittle fracture and environmental cracking where the outcome of the matrix tank vulnerability to brittle fracture and cracking environment. Quantitative methods is done by taking into account the corrosion rate and the cost of failure on the tank, then the risk value obtained in the form of a matrix.

A case study in this task is the tank scholars Central Gathering Station 10 owned by PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia, which is located in Duri, Riau. The first thing is to risk analysis with qualitative methods, with screening question obtained the tank conditions are not susceptible to brittle fracture. From the results of risk analysis with quantitative methods the total risk value obtained for the back wash surge tank for (6,6 x 10-4/year, $ 23.133), foul fwko production tanks for (6,6 x 10-4/year, $ 19.058), safety overflow tank for (6,6 x 10-4/year, $ 291.783) and slop oil tanks fwko for (6,6 x 10-4/year, $ 17.925). Given also that the increase in the value of the corrosion rate and the volume will increase the value of the risk of a

tank, and lowering the value of the risk in a tank can be done by changing the method of inspection.
