Summary:One type of artificial lift method is sucker rod pumping (SRP). The objectives of this final project are to analyse sucker rod pumping calculation and selection method based on API standard for Ripah-14 well at Jabung Field, Jambi of PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. Type of sucker rod pump used in this design is the conventional type which is designed based on API RP 11L. The required production target are 50 bpd, 75 bpd and 100 bpd. After calculating <br /> <br /> <br /> design process, the next step is to calculate stress at rod string that should be fall below the value of allowable stress. Last step is to calculate electric power motor used for the prime mover of that sucker rod pump. The other objectives of this final project are to compare polished rod horse power (PRHP) needed based on API method and mills method calculation and to calculate teoritically downhole pump efficiency based on data from API method calculation at those three production targets using energy equations. <br /> <br /> <br /> The analysis shows that only one type of surface pump and downhole pump needed to overcome or serve those three production targets with some settings on those operational <br /> <br /> <br /> characteristic. There is a slight different value between PRHP calculations needed for those three production tagets based on API method and mills method. From the result of downhole pump efficiency calculations for those three production target, good values of efficiency are achieved <br /> <br /> <br /> which lie between 80% to 95%.
