In a manner to convert diesel engine become gas engine. To convert diesel engine become gas engine without making new investment gas engine by PT. PLN (Persero), it can be done by modifing and adding the fuel system component in consideration of gas available on site and engine life time, as well. The purpose of the research is to obtain performance of gas engine through simulation of gas fuel quality with variation of CO2 concentrate on LPG fuel. By this simulation can be found different fuel gas heat rate which reflect the fuel gas quality from differerent well or where the Power Station (PLTD) is located. Increasing CO2 concentrate on LPG fuel on constant load could be obtained raise in heat rate. <br /> The result of the research indicate that heat rate of fuel gas of the gas engine is lower than fuel of diesel engine. Fuel cost of natural gas and compressed natural gas (CNG) are cheaper because of lower price of fuel (HSD) and heat rate, as well. By utilizing the result that to utilize fuel gas as prime energy resources on electric generating unit will reduce operating cost and level of polutan, and extent engine life time, as well. text |
