Summary:“X” field is located in area of South Sumatra basin. The target of this research is Talang Akar formation. The Talang Akar formation consist of sandstone, shale, and coal intercalation. Since the sandstone is relatively thin, it will be difucult to determine the sandstone dissemination by only using conventional seismic amplitude data. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on sensitivity analysis, VpVs ratio parameter is considered to be sensitive in distinguishing sandstone and shale. So, seismic inversion have to be done in order to map the sandstone lithology at “X” field. The kind of inversion used here is simultaneous inversion. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The simultaneous inversion which is done in angle gather domain, produce P- impedance, S-impedance, density and VpVs ratio volumes. The VpVs ratio volume is able to show the location of sandstone lithology
