An example of application using this technology could be found on predictive maintenance based on vibration signal. The fact proved that predictive maintenance based on vibration signal can increase efficiency and performance of an industry. Today, information technology is much more cheaper than several years ago, and it’s easily to bring a unit of data acquisition based on PCMCIA or USB to outside location to measure and analyze of vibration signal. <br /> <br /> <br /> Dynamics Laboratory – Center of Industrial Engineering – Institut Teknologi Bandung has a unit data acquisition produced by Pico namely PicoScope 3424. This unit connected to the computer through USB port. PicoScope 3424 is equipped with default software called PicoScope by the manufacturer, however this software is still very simple and does not have many features which is needed when doing measurement on outside location. <br /> <br /> <br /> The objectives of this research is to develop a data acquisition software which is used by PicoScope 3424 and can work as a standalone software. The software is build using Visual Basic.Net and has many features, such as: <br /> <br /> <br /> 1.Has ability to measure based on time domain and frequency domain <br /> <br /> <br /> 2.Has ability to find RMS value, maximum dan minimum value <br /> <br /> <br /> 3.Has ability to do data logging and has facilities to adjust time interval between data logging <br /> <br /> <br /> 4.Has ability to save data to a file and give name of the file based on date and time when the data is taken <br /> <br /> <br /> This research has been successfully in develop software that fulfill all the objectives, and has passed some performance testing using signal generator. text
