Forms of uncertainty include disturbance effects on the plant, modeling errors due to nonlinearities, time-varying parameters, and measurement noise. All forms of uncertainty will have effects on the overall system performance and finally influence system stability. That is why the study of uncertainties becomes very important because we will be able to know whether the system will keep its stability despite the uncertainty in its parameters. <br />

In this final project, robust stability analysis method of interval characteristics polynomial on the system influenced by bounded uncertain quantities will be <br />

discussed. The system to be analyzed is single machine infinite bus system. Analysis will be performed gradually from classical model of machine until addition of automatic control systems include automatic voltage regulator (AVR) and power system stabilizer (PSS) in order to understand the effects of variable uncertainties on system stability. The result shows that system characteristics and stability depend strongly on system parameters. The result also shows the sensitivity of some system eigenvalues on given uncertain parameters. |
