RELATIONSHIP ANALYSIS BETWEEN GOOD CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND FIRM VALUE (CASE STUDY ON TELECOMMUNICATION COMPANIES LISTED ON BURSA EEK INDONESIA ON 2006 – 2007)

By the presence of the crisis that stricken to Indonesia on 1998, and afterwards by the ENRON case on 2001 which declared bankrupt after have a good credit rating in a row by Moody’s and Standard % poor, the previous researcher draw out that there is a relationship between Good Corporate Governance and firm value. <br /> <br /> <br /> Goals of this research is to find out the effect of the respondent’s perception on Good Corporate Governance in a telecommunication company to the firm value, and the effect of company’s performance to the firm value as well. And what is more is to find out which variable that in a Good Corporate Governance principle and the company’s performance that have a major effect to the firm value. <br /> <br /> <br /> The method that being used in this research is descriptive verificative method, and using questionnaire and financial ratio as a source of data. The population in this research is all the shareholders in a telecommunication company, in Indonesia nor outside Indonesia, wherein the selection of the sample is to all the shareholders, implicate all age, gender, profession, and monthly income that spread all over Bandung region. The total number of sample is 100 respondent. The technique that are used in this research is non-probabilistic sampling, convenience sampling. Whereas, the analysis that is used is multiple regression to examine the effect of the variable, that implicate the Good Corporate Governance principle, and the financial ratio of the company as an independent variable toward firm value as a dependent variable After being carried out by the analysis with help of the SPSS programme 17,0, provide the results (for the Good Corporate Governance principle as independent variable) Fhitung (9,262) that was bigger than Ftabel (2,46), so as Ho was rejected, that means it was significant that all of the principle of Corporate Governance altogether influenced the value of the company. However, only Transparancy principles that were valid in the population, with the influence size were of 0,538. <br /> <br /> <br /> The further analysis using the financial ratio of the company as the independent variable, provide the results of Fhitung (23,684) was bigger than Ftabel (2,53). This also means that all of the company’s performance altogether influenced the value of the company. But, only Earnings per Share that was valid in the population, with the influence size was of 0,05. <br /> <br /> <br /> As a conclusion, that the perception of the respondent against Good Corporate Governance to the telecommunications company in Indonesia will influence the value of the company. So also the company’s performance influenced the value of the company. Nevertheless the implication of Good Corporate Governance will give the bigger influence than the company’s performance.
