Description
Summary:In the use of vessels for the production, PT Timah tbk as the world's largest tin producer changed ship production from the suction ship to dredges ship. Because with the type of vessel that is now used (Suction Ship Production 1-6) production cost is relatively smaller. PT Tambang Timah as a subsidiary of PT Timah tbk developed his own ship this suction. By boat they have produced, found problems related to ship operations suction. Such ladder structure which is the most important part of the suction vessel that serves to destroy the ground beneath the sea and suck it into the ship for processing. In this final project, the ladder structure is modeled to observe the effects of loading on the structure of the ladder. By studying the workings of the ship before blotting, the way the operation of the ladder, and various possibilities that occur when the vessel operates, the authors make a ladder model using the Msc Patran and then create a scenario loading with various possibilities. Then the authors analyzed the results of these scenarios the impact of loading effect on the strength of its structure ladder allowing vessel operators and mechanical suction to take preventive action to avoid structural failure. The result shows the critical load that may occur is around the pedestal ladder and also at the fulcrum of the ladder pulley puller. The location of the critical point varies with the location of fulcrum and the elevation angle of ladder operation.
