Description
Summary:Nowadays, issues about fossil energy distiction have been highlight of the century. Goverment discretion which support about energy effectivity until technology development from automotive industry have been done to solve this problem. New technology from automotive industry equal to advancement in the fuel quality. That is why the petrochemical industry works closely with the automotive industry to meet the fuel requirement. One of the many proposed solutions for meeting advanced technology in engine is the use of fuel additives. This research goal is to evaluate diesel fuel additives performances through road test, and to know the additive effect for fuel. Diesel fuel and diesel fuel with additive used for the test. The road test used 2 cars, turbocharged direct injection and turbocharged common-rail. Both cars ran for 6000 Km for the road test.

The test result shows a different fuel consumption for each car. The additives giving more effect in a car with common-rail technology. With the different fuel consumption that increase 1.5% for diesel turbocharged direct injection cars and decrease 2,5% for diesel common-rail car, means that the test can not evaluate additive performance accurately.
