Description
Summary:The presence of a vortex in stream will cause a changes of flow velocity and direction, which is for a certain interest need to be accurately measured. This phenomenon will be investigated in a testing process by using a method of direction-sensing probes containing two impact flow angle tubes are fed by an incompressible fluid flow in this case is water. The observed data is pressure difference between the two tubes. This pressure difference enable us to find the

flow velocity and it’s direction.

The results of these tests is compared to the outcome of flow modelling in computational methods. The computational is done using Fluent software. The laboratory test result shows that it is closer to theoretical calculation than the computational method. It means that the computational method is still need to be improved.
