Description
Summary:Groundwater related problem in many aspects requires information on the groundwater flow. Its slowness and invisibility behaviour can be observed through the head However, the overall flow performance is still unknown. Due to its slowness, long term change of groundwater characters in a region needs to be assessed To know the groundwater flow and its long-term change, a 3-D groundwater numerical model using finite element method was carried out. An iso-parametric , Weighted Residual Galerkin, using linear interpolation function was used However for time derivative, a Crank Nicholson finite difference formulation was implemented A resulted matrix in this method was solved using Choleski method after transform it first into single vector matrix. The model was used to simulate the groundwater flow in confined aquifer, unconfined aquifer, semi-confined aquifer, radial and rectilinear flow pattern, all are steady and unsteady flow
