THE INFLUENCE OF TECHNOLOGY TO THE COMPETITIVENESS OF IKM IN THE DECORATION CERAMICS AT THE PLERED CERAMIC INDUSTRY

Technology became the very important aspect in every business activity. Technology creates and develops competitiveness in a company. The progress in technology will change the industrial structure, build new kind of industry, increased competitiveness and give many companies to move to the frontier. <br /> <br /> <br /> Technology became one of the main problems by the Small-Middle Industry (IKM) especially in the IKM of the decoration ceramics of ceramic industry center in Plered in facing the competitiveness condition in a regional and international level. <br /> <br /> <br /> In this research, technology is the component part such as in technoware, humanware, inforware and orgaware that will be identified to know what kind of technological component was most influential against Technology Contribution Coefficient (TCC). In further it will be developed the connection model between the technological component and competitiveness to know how big the influence of the relation condition between technologies to the competitiveness in the IKM of the decoration ceramics. The model of the technology content measurement used the method of techno-metric from UNESCAP (1989). Whereas the model of competitiveness measurement used the Diamond Porter development model <br /> <br /> <br /> (1990). The connection of the technological component to the competitiveness used the method of the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based of partial Least Square (PLS). <br /> <br /> <br /> The results of this research showed that the technological component that was most influential against the increase the TCC value is the component of <br /> <br /> <br /> technoware, then followed by humanware, inforware and orgaware. While the relations between technology and competitiveness showed is the component humanware and orgaware influent to positive significantly to competitiveness. Although the component of technoware and inforware influent positively in no significant to competitiveness. The best model of the development model between technology and competitiveness showed is the component humanware and orgaware influent to positive significantly to competitiveness. Although the component of technoware and inforware through humanware influent positively in significant to competitiveness.
