Description
Summary:In this final project, galloping phenomenon that occurs at overhead transmission line is studied. This phenomenon is a low frequency and large amplitude vibration. The model of phenomenon is obtained from the First Law of Newtons and Hookes Law. The Study will be focused on gravity mode in which the in uence of tension is less than gravity. The asymptotic reduction method is applied to simplify the model. This model has been analysed by an application of Lindstedt-Poincare technique. Designing the suspended cable with the right values of parameters will minimize the vibrations of galloping. The simulations are performed to show the phenomenon of galloping.
