PHOTODIODE CHARACTERISTIC AND ITS APLICATION FOR LUMINOUS INTENSITY MEASUREMENT

Photodiode differs from ordinary diode. If p-n junction type of photodiode at reverse biased is illuminated, the current increase linearly to the increase of luminous flux. Based on that photodiode characteristic, a device for luminous intensity detector can be made as one of alternative luminous in...

Based on that photodiode characteristic, a device for luminous intensity detector can be made as one of alternative luminous intensity detectors. This device can be used by high school students to understand photometry. Apparatus resulted from this research has demonstrated that photodiode can be used as luminous intensity sensor. The greater luminous intensity of the lamp, the greater current detected by the photodiode. It is also demonstrated that the photodiode current is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between luminous source to the photodiode.

text
