Summary:When oil is produced, the data used for reservoir temperature is commonly the temperature of the wellbore. This difference is due to several factors, such as convection, diffusion, adiabatic, and Joule-Thomson effects in porous media. In this final project the effects of such factors on the temperature distribution in porous media are studied, both analitically and numerically. Results show that the adiabatic and the Joule-Thomson effects play important roles on reducing the temperatur; The bigger the parameters, the faster the temperature decrease in the reservoir.
