Summary:In order to increase public clean water service, PDAM Kota Bandung has a clean water supply development scenario that scheduled to be applied in 2010. A new water treatment plant (WTP) Cimenteng will be built in South Bandung, existing transmission pipelines from Cisangkuy river will be reorganized, and transmission pipeline from PLTA Dago Bengkok II will be constructed to the current Badak Singa water treatment plant. The new scenario adds 1.000 L/s to the PDAM water supply. This research is aimed to build a model of the new scenario of water distribution network with extension service area. Service areas extension is made in Gedebage as an allocation extension area from PDAM.<p>In scenario 1, additional water supply of 650 L/s will be allocated to enhance existing service to Southern Bandung, and 200 L/dt supply for extension of the distribution network to Gedebage. On the other hand, scenario 2 has been made with different area of additional water allocation, which is simulated for Bandung Centre-Southern area (650 L/s). Moreover, another simulation has been made to examine the furthest possible extension to Gedebage area. The result of the simulation showed that the application of scenario 2 needs lesser modification than application of scenario 1. The result of third simulation showed that the furthest possible extension which can be made to maintain distribution by gravitation is 6,5 km from Cimenteng Water Treatment Plant main distribution interconnection pipe with node loading of 204,5 L/s for Gedebage area.
