This vehicle is designed to travel in long distance with minimum fuel consumption. Therefore, these vehicles should have a high efficiency motor, low friction, light weight and also easy to operate. <br /> <br /> <br /> ECM (Electronic Control Module) applied in the vehicle to help driver controlling the vehicle. ECM has various features such as cruise control, multifunction displays, and safety systems. This ECM was applied on Rajawali Shell Eco Marathon vehicle and will be discussed in this final project report. There are some vehicle operation simulation in this final project. With the results of the simulation, this final project could be referenced for designing the next vehicle systems. The simulation is divided into five methods. Those methods are simulation with constant velocity power demand, power demand simulation with conventional method, ON-OFF method, Proporsional method and Proporsional ideal method. Each simulation method determined by the type of vehicle transmission and power <br /> <br /> <br /> requirements. <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on the simulation results that have been done, the development of next vehicle systems will adapted based on the result of the simulation with Proporsional ideal method. Proporsional ideal method use wide range ratio transmission and use engine with low revs. With low revs, engine will be more efficient because the engine working at low round rpm is expected to consume less fuel than in higher revs. The friction losses in the engine can be <br /> <br /> <br /> reduced with low speed operation. text |
