The use of natural fibers such as bamboo fibers as reinforcement in composite materials increased remarkable. This is due to characteristics such as potential low specific weight to produce specific strength and higher stiffness of glass fiber. This is of course an advantage, especially when fibers...

This is of course an advantage, especially when fibers are used for a material that is designed to have bending rigidity. Natural fibers such as bamboo is a natural resource that can be updated, just need a little energy in its production. Material from bamboo fiber can be produced with low cost, thus making these materials into products of interest to countries with low income. The production process is relatively safe, does not require complex equipment, and does not cause skin irritation in the production process makes the material of bamboo fiber is attractive for development. This final task is the study of the impact testing of composite lamina. Impact test was performed to determine the failure mode that occurs in the composite specimens as well as bamboo and how its characteristics. The results obtained after the test is the maximum energy that could be absorbed until the specimen is completely destroyed is good to 427.5 Joule plates or sticks. While treshould energy can be absorbed just before the specimens were destroyed to the plate for 62-65 Joule and 162.5 Joule for lidi. Failure mode that occurs in the composite specimens of bamboo fiber is more dominan direction of crack propagation with ± 45 o. text
