Boundary element method (BEM) is one of the numerical approaches which are developed for engineering problem analysis. The transformation from domain into boundary integral in the formulation of BEM requires the discretization of the boundary only. This helps to make the modeling easier for the user...

The transformation from domain into boundary integral in the formulation of BEM requires the discretization of the boundary only. This helps to make the modeling easier for the user and also makes the numerical computing process in this method is more quickly. The development of numerical methods programming increasingly leads to the use of efficient algorithms and processing time reduction. Backed by more modern computer technology, more software is created by applying parallel programming, particularly for multi-processor computer system. By using this programming technique, the software processing time can be shortened. This is the worth advantage, especially if the software is used to calculate a large and complex systems. In this thesis, parallel programming will be applied on the boundary element method software for structural analysis in the case of two-dimensional multi-domain elasticity. The C++ programming language will be used with the addition of Intel Threading Building Blocks (Intel TBB) and Open Multi-Processing (OpenMP) as the additional libraries. Several structural analysis cases are solved using the developed software and the results are validated by analytical calculation. Analyses on the models with hole and crack demonstrate the ability of the software to simulate stress concentration condition. The visualization of displacement and stress distribution is compared with the results of FEM calculation. text
