Description
Summary:Today, natural gas is one of the alternative energy which can substitute the uses of fuel oil for main energy. For this reason, it is necessary to build a processing station which can improve the production capacity of natural gas. One of the most important equipment is compressor. Installation of this compressor station needs another additional supporting equipment and facility to operate

effectively. Therefore, before the installation of this unit, technical analysis should be done to determine the pipe size and required compressor power.

In this final project, piping system hydraulic analysis on gas compressor station in Merbau has been done. In this analysis, piping system modelling has been developed using HYSYS 3.2 software to analyze the fluid flow and to find

out power of compressors needed, then continued by wall thickness calculation to determine nominal pipe size based on ASME B31.3 Process Piping.

The analysis result shows that the most optimum pipe size is NPS 14 inch schedule 20 for compressor suction, NPS 10 inch schedule 60 for discharge compressor, NPS 20 inch schedule 20 for gas from well head, LP Separator, and

LP Scrubber, NPS 12 inch schedule 60 for inlet cooler, and NPS 10 inch schedule 60 for outlet cooler and HP Scrubber. The total compressors power required are 2x 3404 kW and using multistage centrifugal compressor.
