To overcome this problem, some reuse methods of coal fly ash has been applied, one of which is as basic material for the synthesis of aluminosilicate materials. Fly ash rich with silica and alumina content, the vital component as precursor to synthesize Zeolite type ZSM-5. Zeolite type ZSM-5 will be synthesized through a hydrothermal process, with water as solution medium. Coal fly ash will not be leached because it will wash out the alumina content which is amphoteric. Parameters on hydrothermal process is the pressure and time, and the purpose of this experiment is to find the most effective parameters for the formation of a zeolite ZSM-5. Calcination process will be conducted at a temperature of 550oC to improve the morphology of the zeolite, made in fireproof furnace with oxygen environment. Morphology of zeolite particles will be seen using the SEM, and the compounds will be characterized by using XRD text |
