It is assumed that is having no value and must be processed to protect the environment and development of the city[1] <br /> <br /> <br /> The technology of waste processing which has been developed until now comes in different types, such as open dumping, sanitary landfill, biogas, inceneration, gasification, pyrolysis, composting, and plasma. Each technology has different characteristics. The preliminary design and the characteristics of each technology will be the input for the Multi Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA). The weights of each alternatives and criteria are based on the result of <br /> <br /> <br /> interview and questionaire. Both of the MCDA analysis method, AHP and PROMETHEE, are pointing at the same answer which is composting technology at the top of priority and open dumping technology as the lowest priority. <br /> <br /> <br /> The amount of waste production is different for each city. It depends on the number of population, the citizen’s average income, the type and the number of industries in <br /> <br /> <br /> the city. Municipal waste is a common source of problems, such as aesthetics problem, the nesting place for animal which can carry disease, air and water pollution.
