Summary: | This thesis study the behavior of secondary compression of Jambi peat by using consolidation test and data analysis. The consolidation test in laboratory used digital oedometer apparatus and analysed data with Gibson - Lo and Mikasa - Wilson methods. The loading stage of consolidation test was done with load increment ratio was l which initial load was 0,05 kg/cm2 and end load was 6,4 kg/cm2. Every loading stage given for 24 hours, except on the loading stage around pra consolidation pressure that were 0,4 kg/cm2 and 0,8 kg/cm2, the load was given for 7 x 24 hours. The results of research show that the type of Jambi peat compression curve similar to type I and II of Lo's compression curve. The results of data analysis with Gibson - Lo method show that parameter values of a and b decreases with increasing load, while the values of la increases with increasing load. The results of data analysis with Mikasa - Wilson method show that parameter values of cincreases with increasing load for load bigger than pra consolidation pressure. The result of data analysis with Gibson - Lo method and Mikasa - Wilson method, produces strain values that similar to strain values of laboratory test for test time I day and 7 day. |
