Summary:In this final project will be analyzed revenue management principle in airline and the practice of it. Revenue management is one of economic principles that are used to optimize revenue in the industry which market is segmented. Because of airline’s market is segmented, so this revenue management principle can be implemented in airline industry to optimize its revenue. Airline is one of the most complex revenue management principle users because apart from many market segments, the competition is also high. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The project also covers some case studies about overbooking and seat allocation in airline. The overbooking case is analyzed using 3 (three) methods, which is Judgemental, Deterministic, and Probabilistic. The seat allocation case examined 2 (two) route, which is Jakarta-Surabaya and Yogyakarta-Kuala Lumpur with B737-400 by using EMSRb method. The research in this final project based on literature study and data collection from Malaysia Airline. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The analysis of overbooking case using Probabilistic method gives the most appropriate result to market condition, in which the AU (Authorized Unit) value is 190 seats. Seat allocation for Jakarta-Surabaya route in business class (C,D) and economy class (Y,M,B,Q) produce result expected revenue of IDR 52,292,500. Seat allocation for Yogyakarta-Kuala Lumpur route flight number MH 856 in business class (D,C,J) and economy class (Y,W,K,B,M,Q,H,S,V,L) produce result expected revenue of IDR 168,892,000. While, seat allocation for flight number MH 857 in business class (D,C, J) and economy class (Y,W,K,B,M,Q,H,S,V,L) produce result expected revenue of IDR 173,142,000.
