Operator Training Simulator (OTS) is a application made to train operator‘s skill <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> for operating operation unit in factory. The earlier OTS development was good <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> enough. Earlier OTS have some important component to be implemented such as <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> simulation engine using Scilab, OPC using Matrikon OPC+FSGateway, operator <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> and instructor station using Wonderware Intouch, dan database server using <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Microsoft SQL Server. The implementation make OTS have high price. To make <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> OTS system with one Instructor and three Operator, it cost $19,961 just for <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> software license. This background make us to develop new system with all Open <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Source software. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Graphical User Interface On OTS Open Source using PVBrowser. This software <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> was chosen because it is open source, development still continue, and it has <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> connection capability to OPC. only Primary Reformer Section designed. On this <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> section, there are four main window, with seven ESD (Emergency Shutdown) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> window, seven FOS(Field Operator Station) window, window for trending dan <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> alarm as OTS feature. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> There are some difficulties found on this development due to the simpleness of <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Open Source Software. PVBrowser doesn’t have some feature that Wonderware <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Intouch have. So, i have to make this features first, then GUI system for OTS can <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> be done. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> After tranformation have been done, then we have to test the system. Testing is <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> done on each OTS component on simulation condition. Simulation condition is a <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> condition that every OTS component integrated and work together like the earlier <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> development. After testing be done and team decide that this new system work. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> OTS architecture with Open Source Software is ready and can be used to train <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> new operator.
