Using pump as turbin is economical choice because mass of production of pump, low price, and spare part is easily available. Pump can be used as turbine when its run is reversed. Test is showed small different when pump is used as turbin. The objective of the study is to get curves of performance pump as turbine with flow characteristic is happened, losses appeared in flow, cavitation, and effect of fillet at tip of blade to turbine performances. Simulations result showed mixed flow pump could be used as turbine with good eficiency. In simulation shows the head is increased with increasing mass flow rate. Simulation also shows head which is needed to high efficiency at turbine is higher than head which can be increased by pump. Simulation result show highest efficiency is happened at highest rotation with tip of blade is fillet. Similarity result of mixed flow pump Ebara SZ 250 also shows the increasing of efficiency when tip of blade is fillet. text |
