In a pipeline operation, risk is influenced by several factors like corrosion factor, design factor, receptors etc. Pipeline risk assessment is needed in assessing the level of risks in a pipeline with intentions to evaluate the risk level and identifying effective way to handle the risk. <br /> <br /> <br /> This final project conducted risk study based on an indexing method developed by Muhlbauer. In order to ease the analysis, writer has developed a program to help the calculation based on referred method. As case study in this <br /> <br /> <br /> final project, writer has performing a risk assessment analysis for crude oil pipeline Tempino – Plaju at KM77 – KM 3. The analysis conducted for existing pipeline and new pipeline. <br /> <br /> <br /> Analysis result indicates that the existing pipeline have 10 low risk zone, 10 medium risk zone and 9 medium high risk zone while new pipeline have 11 low risk zone, 15 medium risk zone and 3 medium high risk zone. Risk value <br /> <br /> <br /> for probability of failure category at existing pipeline is bigger than the new pipeline with value of 127.84 point; however risk value for consequence of failure category at new pipeline is bigger than existing pipeline with value of <br /> <br /> <br /> 392 point. The analysis also conducted for influence of parameter to risk value for new pipeline. From analysis, it can be concluded that if wall thickness becoming less then risk value for probability of failure category will become <br /> <br /> <br /> greater with the highest risk value of 191.5 point. While greater value of receptors will make risk value for consequence of failure category becomes greater with the highest risk value of 428 point. text
