Utilization of alternative fuel is necessary to be developed along with decrease the stock of crude oil. One of alternative is using coal which the stock is still much. With gasification process, which produces coal gas can substitute the utilization of diesel in dual fuel diesel engine. This research did to modeling mixer which the important part in modification diesel engine to dual fuel. Then test analizing of using coal gas as diesel substitute. And also remember the important to control flow rate of coal gas, so need to be make the automatic control system to control precentage of valve opened. In order to optimize coal gas utilization. Modeling is done using FLUENT 6.2 software with the boundary condition produced from measurement. Analizyng from the result of the test. Make control system procedure base on the general operation of generator and operation condition permit. Utilization of coal gas can reduce diesel consumption up to 60% without reduce the prestation of that diesel engine. Mixer which used for mix coal gas with air at the intake manifold can suck coal gas with flowrate 0.00704 kg/s. The control system made consists of the procedure to prevent and solve the general problem happen in generator. |
