Therefore, in order to decrease the viscocity, the oil had to be pre-heated before it enters the engine. The main purpose of this research is to compare the effect of preheated and blends 50% pure physic coconut oil with diesel fuel. <br /> <br /> <br /> The engine test runs for 17 hours as an endurance test for the 50% pure physic coconut oil blended with diesel fuel based on SAE Paper 942010. Pure unheated diesel fuel also being tested as a comparison for the pure blended coconut oil results. The results shows that after the endurance test, 50% pure coconut oil is worse at engine performances (-6,4% for BSFC and -3,9% for thermal efficiency), and deposits (for coconut oil-diesel fuel 67% thicker than <br /> <br /> <br /> diesel fuel only). text
