Pack carburization is the simplest method of carburization process that use <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> charcoal and shell powder as carbon element adder . <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The research target is to select the effectiveness of pack carburization container. Speciments were low carbon steel which contain 0,15 %C. The pack carburization process was conduct for 2 hours at 900 oC and air qunched. The hardening was done by reheating at 900 oC with 30 minutes holding time <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> and quenched into oil to form martensite structure that was observed by optic microscope and Micro Vickers hardness tester . <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The conclusions of the research are that relative vacuum container is needed for pack carburizing process. Pack carburization process of low carbon steel was done in <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> cementation container of lock nut box and plumbing. text
