Summary: | A server that handles important applications and must be
operated continuously needs a secondary server. The secondary server
should be able to substitute when it fails, so that the availability
applications are maintained. In order to have the secondary server
always ready to replace the main server, the files and data in the
secondary server should be in synchronization with the primary server.
To keep files synchronized, there must be a mechanism to duplicate
files and data from the main server to the secondary server.
This thesis developed a software called Automatic Backup
Server (ABS) that can duplicate sequential text files, the random text
files from a main server to a secondary server, and can replicate table
Oracle.
This software was developed using V cycle based on DoD-STD-
2167A standard. The ABS Software was implemented using
programming language C and PUSQL language. The PUSQL language
is used to execute the utility replicate of Oracle. |
